Information about the School

1. RMS- is being run by The Ministry of Defence
2. There are only Five Schools in India
3. These are similar to Sainik Schools and prepare students for entry into NDA after class XII
4. Only boys are given admission
5. Applications are normally called for in Aug and the Entrance Examination will be conducted in the 2nd or the 3rd week of December
6. Children of Defence persons, Serving as well as retired and Civilians children are permitted to appear for the entrance exam
7. Selection is based on written and Interview, Medical results Plus position in theMerit list
8. The approximate vacancy per school is 50 in class VI
9. Main Advantage- Less costly and Good Education up to class XII with CBSE Syllabus
10. They also prepare a boy to appear for JEE

Age and Class:-

1.For admission to class VI a candidate should not be less than 10 years and more than 11 years of age on 01 Jul of the year of admission.
2.For admission to class IX a candidate should not be less than 13 years and more than 14 years of age on 01 Jul of the year of admission.
3.For admission to class XI a candidate should not be less than 15 years and more than 16 years of age on 01 Jul of the year of admission.
4.Admissions are exclusively for boys.
5.Admission into Classes IX and XI is on the basis of available vacancies.

Rashtriya Military Schools are CBSE affiliated, fully residential public schools, which function under the aegis of the Ministry of Defence.

Entrance Exam : Class VI:

The Common Entrance Test (CET) for admission to Class VI will be held in the month of December
The Examination will be automated OMR based on subjects:-

1. Mathematics
2. Intelligence
3. General Knowledge
4. English
5. 200 marks- each subject 50 questions- One mark each
6. No Negative marking
7. Duration 150 minutes
8. Interview and Medical for Successful candidates only
9. Final Merit list

Reservation of Vacancies

(a) 70% for wards of JCOs/OR of Army, Navy and AF (including Ex-servicemen)
(b) 30% for wards of Officers of Army, Navy and AF (including retired Officers) and wards of civilians.

Fee structure for Rashtriya Military Schools

1. Entitled Cat(OR) -Rs 12,000
2. Entitled Cat(JCO)- Rs 18,000
3. (Offr)-Rs 32,000
4. (Civ)-Rs 51,000
5. For SC/ST in each category-25% of the fees paid by respective category
6. No tuition fees for wards of personnel killed in action (KIA)
7. Effective from the academic year 2020-21

Duration of Entrance Coaching

Duration Starting from 01 June 2021- till the day of Entrance Exam

A set of hard copy of Study kit Rs. 3500 inclusive of Study kit useful for both Sainik and RMS
